Ilia is a Partner with EY Law and a member of the EY’s International Tax Group in Vancouver with over a decade of experience providing tax services to clients across the globe.
Ilia’s practice encompasses all aspects of cross-border tax planning for Canadian and foreign Multinational Enterprises, with a particular focus on the outbound foreign affiliate work. Having previously spent time on the Canadian Tax Desk in New York, Ilia has developed a globally-oriented practice and now works closely with colleagues across EY’s network of more than 150 countries to provide timely and effective advice to his clients, no matter where in the world they need assistance.
Although Ilia’s clients span a variety of industries, his recent work experience as a Tax Director for a large Canadian gold producer best situates him to assist clients in the mining and metal industry. This experience also helped Ilia to truly appreciate the value of practical advice that can be integrated into the decision-making mechanism of a complex enterprise – something that he now seeks to always provide to his clients.
Ilia has in the past presented at Canadian Tax Foundation and International Fiscal Association (Canada) events, and regularly contributes to various Canadian Tax Foundation and other tax technical publications.
