Lawrence is a member of EY Law LLP and also a member of EY’s Talent and Rewards group where he advises clients on the tax issues relating to employee compensation and benefits.
Lawrence specializes in the taxation of executive compensation, including retirement, incentive programs and employee benefits. He has experience in designing executive compensation plans and structuring benefit plans to maximize tax efficiency.
In addition to his advisory practice, Lawrence is also involved in assisting clients in tax controversy matters, particularly as it relates to employee compensation and benefits issues. In this regard, Lawrence has extensive experience assisting clients with respect to audits conducted by the CRA and also audits conducted by the Ministry of Finance (Ontario).
Experience
Before joining EY Law LLP, Lawrence was the member of the compensation and benefits (tax) group at another professional services firm for over 9 years. Lawrence also previously practiced law with a major Canadian law firm.
