Leila is an Associate Partner with EY Law LLP. Leila practices exclusively in the field of US immigration and nationality law, and has in-depth knowledge of US business immigration law and practice, including temporary work and business visas, permanent residence, citizenship, as well as various policy and compliance matters.

As an experienced attorney, and with EY Law LLP since 2011, Leila leads high-performing teams and oversees the delivery of US business immigration services to corporate clients on a wide range of matters. Leila has provided advice and served a variety of Fortune 500 companies, small to medium-sized companies and startups, as well as entrepreneurs. Leila has provided immigration counsel to clients across industries and sectors, including finance, professional services, retail, manufacturing, engineering, arts and entertainment, sports, education, and information technology.

She has also advised corporate clients on complex immigration strategies that result from corporate restructuring, including mergers, acquisitions and reductions in force; the impact to talent acquisition and retention; as well as on US immigration compliance, including I-9 and Department of Labor compliance. Her breadth of knowledge of US immigration law has added value to companies looking to expand into the US market in new ways, or companies seeking greater efficiencies in their established programs.

Experience

Prior to joining EY Law LLP, Leila was an associate attorney at an immigration law firm in Washington, DC, where she prepared nonimmigrant, as well as family-based and naturalization petitions and applications.

Credentials

Leila received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from York University and her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the United States and is a registered foreign legal consultant with the Law Society of Ontario. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and the Maryland State Bar.
